How Cancellations Work on CourtPeep

Updated August 5, 2026

The short version: a confirmed booking can be cancelled free, any time up to a cutoff the venue sets. Most venues use the default, 24 hours before the start time, but a specific venue’s own page always shows its real number. Here’s what actually happens when you cancel, and where the edge cases land.

  1. 1
    Check the venue’s cancellation window
Every venue’s page shows its cutoff on the booking panel before you confirm. 24 hours is the default and what most venues use, but it can be shorter or longer depending on the venue.
  2. 2
Open the booking in My Bookings
Go to your dashboard and find the upcoming booking under My Bookings.
  3. 3
Cancel it, if you’re still inside the window
If the booking starts after that venue’s cutoff, you’ll see a Cancel button. Tap it and it’s done immediately, no confirmation needed from the venue.
  4. 4
Past the cutoff, the button’s gone
Once you’re inside the venue’s window, the app shows "Cancellation window closed" instead of a Cancel button. This is enforced by the system itself, not just a posted policy, so there’s no way to self-cancel late through the app.
  5. 5
    Rebooking instead of editing
There’s no way to change a booking’s date, time, or court in place. Cancel the original slot (if you’re still inside the window) and book the new one separately.

Good to know

  • A pending hold, meaning you started a booking but it never got confirmed, is different: it can be cancelled any time, regardless of the venue’s window. The cutoff only applies once a booking is actually confirmed.
  • Open Play sessions work differently too. Leaving one isn’t bound by any cancellation cutoff.
  • Because you pay at the venue rather than through CourtPeep, there’s no payment for the app to refund. Any money question, like whether a late cancellation costs you something with the venue directly, is between you and them. CourtPeep only handles the cancellation action itself.

Frequently asked

Can I cancel a CourtPeep booking for free?
Yes, any time up to that venue’s cancellation cutoff (24 hours before start by default, though a specific venue can set its own). There’s no fee from CourtPeep either way; since payment happens at the venue, not through the app, there’s nothing for CourtPeep to charge or refund in the first place.
Is the cancellation window the same at every venue?
24 hours is the default and what most venues use, but it’s set per venue, not fixed platform-wide. Check the specific venue’s booking panel for its real cutoff before you book.
What happens if I need to cancel after the window has closed?
The app won’t let you self-cancel at that point; the button is replaced with "Cancellation window closed." Contact the venue directly if something’s come up.
Can I change the time or court on an existing booking?
Not in place. Cancel the original booking (if you’re still inside the window) and make a new one for the time or court you actually want.
